Blacklight photography is special because a lot of the rules that you learn about lighting go out the window.

In this set of images I had the chance of working with the fabulous Whitley Queen.

Whitley is a joy to work with and I highly recommend her if you are in the Dallas area.

Some months back I had started teaching myself Shibari. In the process of self teaching, I discovered that they made UV reactive nylon rope.

Needless to say that sent me down a totally different creative rabbit hole. In these images I mixed blacklight with ultraviolet rope and occasionally brought in a hint of edge lighting.

It’s good to know the rules and how to bend them.
