Chess Game
By James Bontemps
When I shoot with Tessa, we rarely come up with ideas before the shoot, but rather look around and create from what we find around us.
We work together. Sometimes I come up with an idea, and sometimes Tessa does. In this case, she spotted a chess set, and mentioned that she had never played before, so I told her that I could give her a quick lesson.
We set up the game, and she was eager to play. As usual with Tessa, it quickly became a nude chess game.
This photo shoot worked because Tessa was genuinely interested in the game and how the pieces moved. It wasn’t just a prop for a photo shoot.
That shows especially well in the last few photos.
