After the Bath

After the Bath
By James Bontemps

Some of my favorite photos are ones that are not at all planned, but are impromptu shots taken in between shooting.

I had just finished shooting the graphic horror set ‘Taste of Fear‘ with sweet teen Jordyn and Markus Kage in Hamilton, Ontario, and she had taken a bath to clean off all the blood that was all over her.
As she stood up in the bathtub, with only her towel around her, I told her to drop the towel off her shoulders, and quickly shot a few photos of her.
She had put her hair up, and I loved how it looked, along with her sweet smile and her stunning neck, shoulder and chest muscles, tight and visible, especially in the first photo.
All of these photos were taken very quickly in just a few seconds, so Jordyn was not prepared for them. That can result in photos that are really not very good, but in this case, they were able to capture Jordyn’s natural beauty and facial expressions, which were quite different in each shot. That is what I strive for in my work – to capture more than just a model posing nude, but to capture the essence of thoughts and emotion and convey that to the viewer.
The way Jordyn turns her head, as well as her smile, and her eye position make the photos more than just posed photos.
Yes, her tight teen body is exposed for your viewing pleasure, but her emotions are also exposed, and a very personal connection is imagined.
That is important to me. I have succeeded in my work if my photos and videos arouse you, shock you, or trigger strong emotions with their artistic beauty, vulnerability, intimacy or explicit erotic content, but also if you are able to feel what the model is feeling and connect with that.

As always, I would love to hear what you think.

Please leave your thoughts below…
